Automatically generates markers to save time and material costs
1 May 2006
Connecticut, USA – Gerber Technology today announced the release of AccuNest Professional Edition (PE), the company’s new software for automatically generating markers. AccuNest is completely integrated with Gerber’s AccuMark™ software, the world’s leading pattern design, grading and marker making software, and is available exclusively through Gerber’s distribution network. AccuNest creates high yield markers automatically with little or no training required, allowing users with minimal marker making skills to successfully use it.
Operators simply submit the marker requirements to the software and UltraQueue™, the job management component of AccuNest, automatically makes the markers unattended. Markers can be submitted individually or in batch mode by any user on the AccuMark network. The advanced algorithms that drive the placement of the parts, combined with the job queue management functions ensure the maximum material yields in the lowest possible processing time.
In many applications AccuNest PE can make a more efficient marker faster than with traditional marking. AccuNest enables users to save time and material costs when making sample, costing and production markers.
AccuNest PE Highlighted Features * Automatically nests costing and production markers to generate accurate and fast consumption calculations and generate efficiencies.
* Includes both compaction and nesting capabilities – select compact only or nest and compact – for greater material utilization.
* Creates automatic layouts for stripe and plaid materials respecting piece constraints and matching lines.
* Automatically finishes partially laid marker.
* Respects all material constraints applied to pieces such as directional rotation, tilt allowances and spread
* Groups pieces by size or bundle into sections to maintain proximity of pieces in the marker for shade variations.
* Supports tubular materials.
* Supports book folds, enabling pieces to be folded to the top of the marker.
Includes Gerber’s UltraQueue™ software:
* Introduces Quick View to enable viewing of marker and statistics from any type of AccuMark seat.
* Allows multiple users to submit markers from AccuMark workstations for automatic processing. * Fast and easy identification of jobs in process for at-a-glance comparison of process times, marker lengths and yields.
* Export capability to CSV file for reporting and administration.
* Imports model, piece and marker data from most common apparel CAD packages to generate or re-nest markers.
* Full access to standard and SQL storage areas over LAN or WAN for flexible storage.
We are excited to offer AccuNest PE to our customers as an affordable automatic nesting solution for their marker making needs. Our beta sites have experienced an average increase of 2-4% in nesting efficiency as well as increased speed,” said Angela Cruz, product manager, AccuMark family products, Gerber Technology. “Our goal is to deliver the best nesting solutions to our customers at competitive prices. AccuNest will allow us to do just that.”
