Gerber Technology, inventor of the first automated cutting system more than 40 years ago, has installed its 10,000th GERBERcutter. Theory, a New York-based men's and women's contemporary fashion company, purchased the milestone cutter – a GERBERcutter® GTxL, which is the second such system in operation at Theory’s headquarters and design center in New York City.

Recently, Gerber Technology presented its webPDM® Achievement Award at FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising) in Los Angeles, Calif. during the graduate thesis presentation event for the school’s International Manufacturing and Product Development Advanced Study Program. Each year, Gerber Technology recognizes one student who best demonstrates outstanding applied understanding and use of Gerber’s webPDM product data management software in the preparation of his/her thesis. FIDM graduating student, Breanna Broach, earned this year’s award.

During the 13^th China (Dongguan) International Textile and Clothing Industry Fair (DTC 2012) being held March 28-31, Gerber Technology, a world leader in providing automation solutions for the apparel industry, will showcase its software and hardware systems under the theme Take Comfort in Our Experience.

Students from the Greater Hartford Academy of Math and Science (GHAMAS) visited Gerber Scientific headquarters today to demonstrate the results of their six months of design, engineering and product testing labors while preparing for the FIRST® Robotics Competition. For the past three years, Gerber has supported the team through monetary donations and the volunteer time of a mentor engineer.
