Tailored laser projection

Virtek provides laser projection and quality inspection solutions that support manufacturers in a variety of specialized industries to assist with assembly processes. We have the ability to guide a beam of laser light onto a work surface or part with a high degree of accuracy, speed, and precision for applications such as composite ply layup, paint masking, placement of components or materials, to quality inspection and reverse engineering tasks. Founded in 1986, and today part of Gerber Technology, Virtek is based in Waterloo, ON, Canada, and has global coverage in the USA, across Europe and in Asia.

Tight tolerances were achieved for the Boeing EMARSS (Enhanced Medium Altitude Reconnaissance and Surveillance System) aircraft, designed to gather intelligence for the U. S. Army, by integrating our GERBERcutter® computer-controlled cutting system and a Virtek® LaserEdge® laser templating system. With 26 parts each for five aircraft, precision and repeatability of the manufacturing process was key to success.
