Chief Strategy and Digital Officer
Karsten Newbury is Chief Strategy and Digital Officer at Gerber. His focus is on leveraging Gerber’s heritage of innovation to drive the company’s software portfolio and “Digital Solution”, working very closely with customers in the fashion, retail and flexible materials industries to drive their competitiveness in the global marketplace. Before leading Strategy and Digital Transformation at Gerber, Karsten drove the development and Growth of Gerber’s Software Business. Prior to joining Gerber, Newbury served as Senior Vice President and General Manager for Siemens PLM Software’s Mainstream Engineering business. In that role, Newbury was responsible for leading the company’s go-to-market and software development efforts for the business on a global basis, focusing on out-of-the-box PLM, CAD and CAE tools for small to mid-size product development organizations. In 2007, Karsten led the integration of UGS, a $3.6B acquisition into Siemens Automation Division, which led to the formation of the Siemens Digital SPLM Software and later Siemens Digital Industries. Newbury came to Siemens PLM Software from Siemens Energy & Automation (SE&A) where he was General Manager, Process Automation Solutions. He began his career at Siemens as Marketing Manager for Siemens Low-Voltage Controls business. Newbury holds a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany with a dual major in computer integrated manufacturing and business administration.
