Under normal application conditions, sunlight, handling and maintenance, typical pollution and weather, controlled petrochemical contact, printed graphics do not require any additional protection. But sometimes, there may be graphics that experience out of the ordinary conditions. For those times, we have an offering of overlaminates that will help. Please note that overlaminates are not intended for printing.

Gerber Guard

Custom-formulated for Gerber, Gerber Guard is designed to provide additional protection from petroleum-based or other chemicals, as well as increased abrasion resistance due to exposure to severe handling conditions. Gerber Guard’s glossy characteristic creates a more lustrous finish when applied to your Gerber imaging device-produced graphics. May also be used on unprinted vinyl film with the same quality results.

Gerber UVGuard

Gerber UVGuard is a custom-formulated, 1-mil, clear, polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) laminating film designed to further expand the resistance to weathering of graphics printed (or cut) on Gerber Series 220, 225, 280i Plus, and QUANTUM 2000 with the GERBER EDGE Series thermal transfer printing systems, in conjunction with GerberColor™ Series Foils.

Gerber UVGuard 9

Gerber UVGuard 9 is a glossy 2 mil, clear, PVC laminating film with graphic protection system designed to further expand the resistance to weathering of graphics printed (or cut) on Gerber Series 220,225, 280i Plus films with Gerber Digital Color Printing Systems and GerberColor™ Foils. Gerber UVGuard 9 has the highest protection from UV fade. Graphics printed and applied under normal conditions may not require the additional application of Gerber UVGuard 9.

Flexible heavy duty clear vinyl with clear permanent acrylic adhesive. Different combinations of Convex® base materials and PRO-SHIELD™ can be used to achieve a variety of decal thicknesses and prices.

Gerber StrikeGuard

Gerber StrikeGuard is an extra-thick (8-mil), flexible clear overlaminate designed to provide EDGE®-printed graphics with extreme protection from forceful impact. It has been developed as part of a great new system for producing helmet decals and for decorating “extreme sports” equipment, including recreational vehicles.

Special Effects Overlaminates

Carbon Fiber provides a carbon fiber appearance to the underlying film/graphic. Starry Night enhances the underlying film/graphic by adding an intense silver sparkle. These films can be used with graphics printed on GERBER EDGE®, GERBER EDGE 2®, and GERBER EDGE FX thermal transfer printing systems, in conjunction with GerberColor™ Foils. Starry Night and Carbon Fiber are intended to be used for lamination over another film substrate in order to enhance the look of the graphics.
